retrospect.

retrospect |ˈretrəˌspekt|nouna survey or review of a past course of events or period of time.

2009's now history.

For the bunch of us who are still bumming around 'cos JC life starts a tad later.. it still feels like 2009. Pretty delusional.

2009 has been (was, rather) one heck of year. Being Sec 4's pretty cool, I must say. Hahahahaha! Or maybe it's just me.

I was looking at my posts in blogger and uncovered this stash of old posts which were saved as drafts... from a long time back. It's quite amazing how different we are now.

12 December 2008: Connect(ed)!'08- Too fast, too soon, one more time please?
'm pretty sure that, in some way or another, every one of us has learn and grown from this camp.

conversations and chats with batchmates ignited alot of thoughts inside me. i think we're amazing, and there's still so so so much more room for us to grow together. especially the last night, when we stayed up to talk (excluding kongkakay, who slept like a worm..), being a part of everyone else, and everyone else being a part of all of us just felt... urgh some things cant be put into words, but the feeling's pretty overwhelming, and i just want to say, that im really, really thankful (:

this camp's made me seen different sides of people, and made me see things in ways which i'd never have imagine.

Connect(ed)!'08... That was when our batch'd barely taken over. We were still trying to get used to our various roles, filling in our seniors' spaces, living up to expectations.. That was the beginning of our journey into 2009, being role models for our juniors (not exactly good ones the whole time, but we tried), planning for the company, coming up with cool new ideas and cool stuff (boy were we good at this! haha!)...

Batch '06 has been an incredibly special batch to be in.

4 January 2009: Goals for 2009 (:
Self
1. Exercise better self-control, especially while surfing the net and doing things which are not urgent as tasks on hand; get my priorities right.
[Er okay improved a bit. Kinda.]

2. Spend more time and take my studies more seriously, instead of leaving it at the bottom of my to-do list. msg 2 and below (:
[Okay obviously not. I'll die if this goes on in JC.]

3. Do my homework diligently and pay attention in class, ask when im uncertain, and rid the sluggish attitude.
[Slept (in class) less.]

4. Cycle, exercise as and when possible, on a monthly basis.
[Not really. Need to start working out soon.]

5. Learn how to swim by the end of the year. (:
[Yessssssssssssssssss!]

Guides
1. Find the leadership that is truly suitable, without compromising on my true character and the company's standards. (Being approachable VS Respect)
[In a way, yes. Could have been stricter on standards, though.]

2. Puan Noor Aishah: 2 GOLDS. (or at least a gold and a silver)
[Secret dream with Rah. Gold and silver hopefully, fingers crossed. 8) 2009 was pretty badly affected by H1N1; we did good.]

3. PGA (?)
[Was uncertain then. It happened anyway. Thank God!]

4. To make a difference.
[We did. Some hopes left dangling.. but we did. (: ]

5. Cherish the last year together we'll ever have as Batch'06 in Nanyang Guides(:
[And it's now 2009 no longer. Memories remain...]

Others
1. Grow taller(:
[Epic fail. T_T]

2. Go to: Sandy's, Huili's, Gladys' house at least once(:
[Went more than once man! Except Sandy's! 2010!]

3. Keep in touch and make regular efforts to remember people's birthdays/special occasions and write them messages and get gifts(:
[Occasionally yes (: Missed out on a lot of people's though. JC year will truly test the "keep in touch" part.]

4. Save at least $2.00 a week(:
[Saved $5 a week, good job me (: ]

5. Sleep by 1am everyday.
[Fail. Sleeping habits fluctuate. Will work on this.]

2010 resolutions later on... The flu medicine's making me a little tipsy.

Thank God we're all growing up. (:
