flight.

Wow, Batch '07 is stepping down soon/already! The Sec 3s are in the semi-handover stage now. This is really strange! We just passed our juniors the baton a while ago! o:

Reading juniors' blogs brings a lot of emotions; amusement, reminiscence, disbelief, warmth, familiarity. Quite cool. Keep blogging my juniors, good way of keeping in touch with NY and you this way. (:

We've only left for 5 months, but it feels like such a long, long time. NY Open House this Sat! Hahaha should I seriously go back and lead school tours feel so out of touch. Hmmm can go back and visit.

Anyway, back to work...

and Bailey, why was I so fain to set you free?

BREAKFAST PARTY AT CSM 2010!!!
:D

I love photos that trigger emotion...
A chuckle, thought, laughter, plop.

(Plop's... a word to make the above rhyme.)

Candid shots are (unglam at times, but) really cool.

I miss the feeling of holding a camera and taking photos!
Need to send Xiao Bai for check-up and get it alive soon.

On a sidenote, I still feel really awful about the thousands of photos lost in my harddisk ):
Sorry to all of you my batchmates juniors classmates familymates ):
Note to self: (1) Buy reliable harddisk. (2) Back-up.

I really ought to be doing my work now... but I really can't be bothered to ._.

Hahaha eh I squiggle with excitement everytime I see new photos uploaded on Chou and N.'s albums. If I seriously have an account I think I'll go a bit crazy. Hahaha so 'm gonna stick with using your account for a while now. Thank you you! :D (Hahahahaha yes you.)

OUR EXCITING ESCAPADE!!!

Glee :D

My favourite retarded people. <3
Nom nom nom nom :D

More feeding...

In our team, we're used to tending to the many children amongst us.
Think feeding, crying, giggling and goofy games.

Yeah, that's a goofy game.
Ah boy and Ah Girl launching (yet another) attack on Goofy Guo.
HAHAHAHA GG.

... and another GG!
That's... pre-catastrophe serenity.
Zeshan had it all taped down...

I'm sorry there's only one caption suitable for this photo:

This one... my Ou Xiang.
She is cool. :D
(Hahahaha like who will believe, with a photo like this!)

third post in a row

We're having PT (personal time) now and I've digressed from Math. I'm bored, and starving. Can't wait for lunch!

I give myself 2 weeks to catch up. Need. To. Study.

:D Bell's gone, adios!

On: Belief.

Strange things can happen when you really want something real bad; and you show people how badly you want it with the life you put on the line.

The feeling when

you couldn't wait for today to come, but inside you know that a part of you will leave when today's over.

Focus, let's go.

on: breakthrough

Xiaoen is happy today! :D Hahahaha (: Man, I get what a "good run" means now! Would love to have another round/run like yesterday's.

Team ran to Botanic Gardens from school ytd. You must liao jie I seriously hate running. - -" Hehe but less now! Anw! It was quite cool, 'cos the pace felt really nice. I think it was slightly slowed down 'cos of me, but stillllllllll (: Running at the front really forced me to keep pushing/going.

We ran past Coro, Serene and into some er restricted garden in the park hahaha (: It was quite cool hahaha like a maze! Then we got bitten by A LOT of mosquitoes while stretching at the pavillion - -" It was like, "Tabitha!" *SMACK* "Joline!" *SMACK* "Mosquito!!!!!!" *SMACK SMACK SMACK* Quite fun (: Felt like dying while doing the run around the lake, but quite cool lah. Must learn how to train up mental endurance. Mind push legs.

The run back to Hwach was WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENED. (Sorry are you bored reading about the run already? Let me rant lah yah it's a breakthrough.) Anw so we were running back, past Serene, yadayada... I think the pace was quite fast? (Not sure lah, concept of fast/slow = fail - -") but anw, when we ran to around Crown Centre, then I suddenly felt this SHUANG burst of energy to runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn very fast and runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn a lot more! Never experience before woah it was shiok man! Ay but we stopped a while later in front at Coro, so I didn't get to try how far I could go. But still (:

I think yesterday's run was really quite significant in slashing away some phobia for running. Hopefully this :) feeling will last and I'll become fitter and fitter like the rest of the teammmmmmmmm :D Yay! Man I really really really love this bunch of people ^^

Hehe we're so cute ^^

Sorry ah, hahaha for those of you in sports for years already it might seem quite insignificant right (: But this whole notion of being in a team/sport is really super foreign + fresh to me. Still trying to get used to it, push, train and discover the magic of having teammates. So, hee (:

Oh after the run we stopped by Coro and went to NTUC to buy 2 + 1(.5?) litres of fruit juice :D Joline and Pam tried the fruit and veg juice for the first time ytd. (Y) We like! Nicole tried guessing the 16 fruits and veg later on, hahaha it was fun! But she FAIL lah, seriously. Never hear the "Wo de re qing" song before - -"

Anw fast forward to trg today (: Really enjoyed + learnt a lot. As in, 'cos before this I think I've been at this point of stagnantation (there's such a word right? my comp says there's spelling error!) the past while. We were talking about it the other day, like how the learning curve was very steep the first month, but slowly reached this plane of trying to breakthrough to the next level.

Slowly but surely we're all getting there lah (: Even though the pace in learning and skill level's got some disparity, but mm people are keen to learn + help.

Learning points from today's training:
1. Picking up speed while going towards opponent's half to shoot.

It's seriously quite hard + nerve-wrecking to get. Kept slowing down during the drill. Need to practise a lot more on this, like (a) not being afraid of losing the ball in the face of defenders, (b) work on fakes and direction changes, (c) shooting accuracy.

Shooting's super inconsistent now. Sucks. Need discipline to practise every recess. Yesterday's recess prac was quite shiok too, 'cos I managed a succession of sui slapshots. ^^ Super good for relieving stress. (Y)

2. Don't need to run alongside opponent's forwards who come charging. Run in front of their path + block shooting side immediately.

This is the counter of point 1. I think it's quite impt. Match on Wed against MI, heard that their forwards are really fast. Need to stand ground when they come charging *cue Nicole and Pam's spontaneous bull action - -"*, and focus on blocking their shots and forcing them to push the ball to the corner before winning it.

Still learning and finding the correct 'feel' in terms of distancing in defence. 'Cos I still can feel myself confused sometimes on court, when the ball's at the corner and I'm blocking the free player. Must be more sure whether to step up and block shooting side or remain on goalie's blind side.

3. Prioritising.

When we've got the possession in opponent's half, the priority is to 1) shoot, 2) if it's impossible to, then pass. I think we need to be more hungry for shots and everyone should work towards the goal, not just the usual forwards/scorers.

Again, prioritising in terms of defence as well. Don't focus on winning the ball first, 'cos you'll end up committing suicide when you lose the player and give her space to run in and shoot/pass. Focus on blocking the shot and pass, hit the ball to sideboards first, then do the fencing thing to win.

4. On defence. New stuff; almost contradicting, but logical and sensible.

Learnt some new tips and points today. I think the first is about not committing. 'Cos before this we were all quite focused on using the fencing steal. But Gary taught us today that we shouldn't commit with our blades unless we're 100% sure we can get the ball. Must learn to stand behind and block out opponent's options.

Oh and then the thing about centres and sideboards. Interruption: THE TACTIC BOARD WORKED TODAY. Finally. As in, it was the first time Gary actually told us first if we were the blue/red team before explaining the formation. Didn't need to spend half the time trying to figure out and digest the info at the same time - -" I think my IQ a bit fail in this aspect, but hahaha (: (Ooooooooh today I did speed-multiplication. (Y) (: Boards = 2m. 2m x 14 boards, lengthwise. 28m x 2 laps. 56m x 2.) (Y)

Anw so we learnt about freeing up space along the sideboards and switching positions. I think it's very useful!!! And then defenders can run up to support, by allowing a back-pass before the ball goes into the box. Need to fully internalise and put into action on court.

I am so sorry, are you bored already. Jotting down for myself to rem!

5. Slow and steady wins the race ball.

It's not always about going upfront for a direct pressure/scare opponents. Before this we've always been quite into the HOI! + *stick slam* pressure. (Think Claire.) Today we learnt that sometimes it's actually more effective to stand back and slowly approach step by step. Applying indirect pressure and increasing the chances of blocking the pass and winning the ball. Need to work on stealth. <:)

6. Body first. Proper stance-ing and using our sexy shins + thighs.

We did ball-covering today again. Partnered the disgustingly-soaked Tabitha! Gross dao~ Hahahaha (: Anw we learnt how to combine shin + stick to block stealing attempts. And how to remain steaaaaady (like Chouyun :D) WHEN OPPONENTS TRY TO PUSH YOU OVER. Sidenote: Thank goodness swift referee calls were made in the last match (:

Oooooooh and when training ended we did lunges x 2 laps. First time doing lunges! Pain but (Y). Was like, *lunge* "Come on!" *lunge* "Sexy legs!" *lunge* "Beauty queens!" "Sexy legs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Workouts become a lot less bad with one team does it together.

7. (Seven's my fav no. so I'm going to end soon. :D) ONE WRONG/BAD PASS CAN = OPPONENT'S GOAL ):

Wahpiang ): It was really bad. Made a direct pass to Hazel behind the goal today, but it ended up hitting the backboard (To self: Practise backhand pass!!!!!!!!!). Opponent's forward intercepted AND SCORED. ): If I do the same thing in the match, I will... !!!!??! So anw moral of the story is that passing is the most basic thing on court. Screw up = screwed up.

Oh but anw during today's 3-on-3 game, I thought we did quite well! :D Although it's just one player less, but it makes super a lot of difference in the game! O: Need to keep switching sides, both length-wise and width-wise. Although we didn't score but I think we worked well against the other team of 3, 'cos it was very systematic. 1 person block shot in front of goal, 1 person upfront pressure, 1 person block the pass. (Y)

Haha I think this (Y) thing is very funny but cool 8) Gladys influenced me to use it lah. (Y) Hahaha! Oh anw for those of you who don't know what (Y) is, it's the thumbs-up emoticon, like in MSN convos. Or am I the only one who didn't know what it was until someone told me?

Wheeeeeeeeeeee ok shall end the post here! Sorry the whole post's about floorball floorball and more floorball! It's this sudden burst of :D that I just had to post. (:

Before this ends... (more floorball.)

Some numbers:
Number of successful blade-catch-ball attempts = 1.

'm trying to learn Nicole's blade-catch-ball thing! She's treating ice-cream when the successful attempts reach a consecutive 10. 9 more to go!!! For a hand-eye coordination = ULTIMATE FAIL person like me.......... I CAN DO IT.

:D

Number of matches to go = 4!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Okay need to do homework already T_T Must start catching up and running ahead! Don't run alongside the minimum pace but run IN FRONT and block the path/be in control. Haven't been reading ahead of lectures since ... Must start the habit again.

Number of tests this coming week = 3. Monday - GP Compre Test. Wed (or is Thurs?) - Lit WSS essay test. Fri - Math inequalities class test. (OH SHOOT wait i think im missing the test again!!) (Got match on Fri!) Win. I haven't had a single Math class test lah. - -" Missed the first and second one already, 'cos of photog duty and fever.

Oh anw for all of you/us who are sick, GET WELL SOON! :D Health is seriously super important. Drink more water, eat more fruits! The weather these days is -________________-

Hehehe I suddenly feel like I've got a lot more random things to blog about but aiyah. When there's more time k!

Submitted application form for Fac Comm. Have no clue what my chances are, but keeping fingers crossed anyway. (: On a sidenote, I think if I get into FC, I'll drop photog. :| See how first.

Okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk selamat tinggal! Have a good weekend (:

uncertainty.

I think I need to be more self-assured; 've been thinking a tad too much... over this and that.

9 days to Nationals.

too many photos, too little time. another day!

The best way to get something done is to begin.

People are slowly crashing out from JC life - you see people slowly slipping away, homework piles getting bigger, walking zombies, deadlines getting pushed, tutorials undone...

Urgh.

'm currently slightly backtracked in terms of work; haven't caught up with Geog yet - it seems like an impossibility, really. I can feel myself slowly slipping away and draining out too, it's not good.

Anyway, learnt a new abbreviation today, SOL. Sick of life. But no, am not sick of life. Not yet.

Tests have been straight failures all the way so far... Yes, on one hand, it's normal. On the other, it calls for a need to start working. All are a few marks away from a Pass, so that's some consolation in a warped sense.

23 days to Nationals. We're going to run 2.4 every single morning. Target time = max. 14 mins. Tell me, how? Not cut out for sports at all. But not giving up yet.

I hate feeling tired. Why must we feel tired? The logical answer is that humans feel tired so that we can rest. But what if there's no time for rest!!! At all! It doesn't make sense.

I am going to backpack and lead a kampong life one of these days.

'm gibbering... and am off to do PI for PW. Refer to the title.

Time check- 11:12pm. We can do this.

Till life gets better.

My Grandmother.

Tomorrow is the birthday of my favourite person in the whole wide world.

My grandma's been the pillar of my life, and our family, since our coming into existence.

She is the one who stands by every one of us, no matter what befalls. She is the one who raised 3 boys and a girl all by herself during the gloomy days in the past, enduring and making it through hard times of making ends meet.

Gran is the one who wakes up before day break every single day to go to the market and buy ingredients for dinner, the one who supervises the cooking of dinner, even when she is sick and ill - because she believes in putting a good meal for the family, the one who refuses to eat until the last member of the house comes home - so that she can accompany him/her to have dinner.

Feeding me with - what's that? Char Kueh Teow??
Kidding, it's the angle. I don't think I was old enough for solids yet.
Oh but look at my greedy, pleading eyes. Hahahaha!

Grandma makes my favourite soups in the whole wide world. Nobody's soups can match up to hers. Ever.

Grandma taught me Cantonese, and fed me with Scott's Emulsion when I was young. (: (I super love Scott's Emulsion!) She sang me songs on rainy days with thunder and lightning, and when I was sick and down with fever. The song went along the lines of  “不要咳,不要咳。给猫咳,给狗咳,不要给晓恩咳⋯⋯” Something like that. Over and over, till I dozed off.

Ok this one's real (:

You were always there for me when I burst into tears.

Gran ALWAYS cries when anyone goes overseas. Especially my cousins and I. Her cry is one out of fear, somehow. She'll always fear not seeing us ever again; it's a worry, a too-precious kind of love. Her crying makes you want to cry too.

But I'll sing you a song, don't cry (:

Gran's been relatively healthy all along; she eats lots of garlic and ginger and vegetables, and her soups have no salt. At all. Ultimate. Her soups are authentic Cantonese-style, boiled the entire day before serving. Super love.

DON'T ask what I was wearing.
Don't.

But a pretty baby can carry anything off, anyway.

But Gran hasn't been in too good a shape these days. Her memory is getting very, very bad, and so is her eyesight. Coupled with the back and foot problem she's had for quite a while. She refuses to say anything even when she is in pain. She'll just sit on her arm chair by the window and say she's fine.

Nowadays, she keeps calling me "toffee", calling toffee "xiaoen"... mixing up everybody's names and walking into things/falling down...

Just as you held my hand, I'll hold yours.

The deepest, greatest, darkest fear in my heart, the one which I pray so earnestly for every night, is that Grandma will pass away before accepting Christ. I really cannot imagine, neither can I bear to imagine what will happen. Tears start flowing every time I try to think about it. It's so frustrating because God seems to be taking His time. Then I start to wonder, what if He doesn't reach her in time?; what if she doesn't reach Him in time? Gran is the greatest, most selfless, most noble person in the world, to me. But there is only one route to an eternity of joyful rest. What if...?

But all things are perfect in Your time. Dear Lord, please touch Gran's heart one day, so that when she passes (Please please please please please, not any time soon, I really want her to see my six children. And nurture them like she has nurtured me), so that when she passes she will be by Your side, enjoying the much-needed rest and honour she so very much deserves. Please listen to this prayer, Amen.

Sometimes I think quietly to myself - I'm willing to give up my life in exchange for her salvation. Gran and I will spend our eternity together in heaven's campus next time (:

Sigh.

I love you, Gran (: Have a wonderful birthday.

Cherish.

ps,

Photos from 410 BBQ up soon, once I get 'em from Caijing! I've got a million thoughts bubbling over from the gathering. I miss my class ):

Say hello, it's the start of a brand new term.

One word: Re-focus.

Your strength, not mine.
Your will, not mine.

Friday, March 19, 2010

a figment of my imagination.

Hello y'all how're the holidays coming along! I am sick... again - -" First time sick this year, millionth time I'm sick in the holidays. Apparently the school term keeps viruses and bugs away, for me at least. Zzzzzz.

Anyway! I really haven't got much to post about, really. I need to get back to clear The Homework Pile. It's not getting any smaller!!! ): And I haven't got about catching up on my Geog readings yet sighhhhhhhhhhhhh. I am utterly and completely lost in Geog lessons currently. For both human and physical T_T

'm terrified of Term 2!! It looks really bleak, with PW and all the essays coming along. I hate essays. It just dawned upon me quite recently though, that 3 out of 4 H2 subjects I take require essay-writing. Zzzzz. Term 2 will not have any of the games and laughter and hoo-hah and dancing... And random holidays like CNY and A-level celebrations.

Hahahaha this is such a whiney post. Whiney whiney whiney whine whine whine.

Okay zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz byebye sorry for the lack of substance. (: Will reply all your tags soon!

Auf Wiedersehen (:

the End of the Beginning.

March hols are here! March hols are here! *cue joyous singing and tippity-tapping elves with tingling bell hats*

Thank God for the holiday (: Term 1 has been incredible. Incredibly fast, incredibly different, incredibly exhausting, but altogether pretty incredibly fulfilling. College life zaps the energy outta you like it's never been zapped before. Every single ounce of energy. I think Term 2 is gonna be a killer but ack, let's bask in the brief slow pace for now and look back at what we've all done.

Sunbeamm has been pretty much neglected, so has everyone else's blogs except die-hard bloggers like perhaps Yanquan's. Sorry for the lack of updates ): A twitter might appear sometime soon...

Anyways! I'm sitting here with my trusty planner now, looking at the things which've happened in the past 3 months, and squinting really hard at the new year resolutions set some time back. So many things have happened, gosh. Making new friends has been incredibly exciting. :D Getting to know new people, forming little groups of friends to study and makan with... Friendships have been pretty well-maintained too, actually! Except that everyone has so much less time for one another now. It's more of the occasional hi-bye and random 3 minute chit-chats. Still (:

January was spent pretty much in a holiday-breeze, we went out shopping, playing, yadayada... Then there was IP week and Open House and OG Orientation and collecting HC O's results and POOF January was over.

Hahaha! (:

February came along and lessons started more or less, fun introductory lectures and tutorials with games (Econs- Identity hahahaha) (: Work came in very very slowly, we were still thinking to ourselves, "Hey maybe it won't be so bad afterall!" We were kinda wrong, but aiyah. There was Chinese New Year (:D !!!), Week of Welfare, POP! (ARES = DANCE CHAMPS) ... We also had our first tests in Hwach; Math Lecture test, Lit Test etc... Of which all have been failures... T_T (Few marks away from pass - must work harder!) Had the first floorball training, Thinking Day Rally 2010 (Awesome job, Sec 4s) (Even more awesome job, Nanyang Guides)... Internal emcee audtition, Dramafeste...

POOF! We're now in March (:

This post is so fragmented and a bit pointless but hahahaha anyway.

March's kinda started to take its toll on us. I kinda digressed a bit here and there, sleeping hours started fluctuating again... Will start on the right foot in T2. Floorball training is really stretching my stamina-less cells to the max; need to train train train train trainnnnnnnnnnnnnnn a lot harder. Just got my stick with Joline and Celestine ytd, we now share an inside joke that tickles Joline pink - -" Oh and I named my stick Fatty. Don't be deceived by its name ok, got meaning one. Fatty <3 Whee oh and we got a free floorball also! :D I call mine Bluey (: Literally, 'cos it's blue. It's a really pretty shade of blue; clashes with my orange blade but I don't care :D

So childish, tsk.

Had Emcee Auditions at MOE on Wednesday. I really really really hope I'll get through! Praying really hard ): I think it went quite well, though! YOG YOG YOG YOG :D

GP essay test was crash and burn. Er apparently Mr Kev told my parents my script's 满江红 (hahaha is it written like this??) Will be re-writing and emailing. REVENGGGGGGGGGGGE. Anyways I think Mr Kev's seriously quite cool. A tad too knowledgeable, though, it kinda freaks me out. But he's genuinely nice, and my parents have been raving about him since Parents' Day. Oh and after Parents' Day we went to Xin Wang for dinner/supper; the store manager was super good, she kept smiling and talking to us and smiling and smiling and she was really very nice. (Y) We need more service like that. Her name was Alice, can't remember her surname - Wong, perhaps?

Okay I'm off now! Waking up at 6:15 tmrw T_T Friendly against Bukit Merah Sec. They were double champs of '09 if I'm not wrong. Need to step up on our game. A lot. Friendly on Friday against Swiss shocked the stamina-less cells outta me ): I really never imagined the game to be so... violent? Need to play with love man, play with love. Fell down once and scored twice :D Elbow still hurts, hope tmrw will be a better game. I want to be fit fit fit fit fittttttttttttt. And strong and steady like Evelyn Tan so that opponents will fall down when they knock me. Hahahaha (: Tmrw will be Fatty's first match. Come on Fatty let's conquer the world. HCFB <3

Oh I'm in Photog too, btw (: Mr Lee KY's ex-personal photographer will be coming to teach us next term, I'm really excited! :D A DSLR's still on my list. ): Sigh (: Dear friends do yall want to come together and get me one? *hinthint* September *hinthint*

Hahahahahaha okay till next time! Holiday homework list is really long, but let's be thankful and rest while we can! Have a good holiday (:

Adios!

after all our hopes and dreams have come and gone

May all who come behind us find us faithful
May the fire of our devotion light their way
May the footprints that we leave
Lead them to believe
And the lives we lead inspire them to obey

May all who come behind us find us faithful.

sometimes, you can't help but wonder...

"How to survive JC life!?!?"

The road ahead is long. Long, my friends.

On a sidenote, here's an email from my GP tutor to the class... (this chunk was meant for the KI peeps.)

"Epiphenomenal Qualia" and "What Mary Didn't Know" are about qualia, phenomenology, epiphenomenal facts. These articles are useful for your lessons on physicalism/mentalism and empiricism/rationalism. Cottingham, a Cartesian scholar, discusses Descartes' third substance "Cartesian Trialism". You can use it to challenge the physicalism/mentalism and mind/body divide. The argument is simple: we do not, epistemologically speaking, see the world along these lines; we have an aprioristic idea of a third "hybrid substance" (to put it crudely).

?!?!

What am I doing in a half KI class ):

I think sunbeamm is going to pass away pretty soon. Zzzz....

ONE MORE DAY to the weekend.

hang in there!

it's gonna be a long night... homework screaming, desperate for attention. off to bathe.

sorry for lack of updates recently. life's been either 1) not worth-posting 2) too tiring to post about.

writing in short sentences creates impact. me likes.

i need to scale the mountain of intellectuality. i felt very stupid the entire day today ):

adios. (:
bite your lip when you're tempted to say life sucks!

say "AYE".

Is there anyone else who would rather go to school than face the pile of homelearning stuff to do? T_T

stark.

While researching for my GP assignment (on elite schools), I came across this article. I was quite dumbfounded when I read it, really.

A penny for your thoughts?

Priority Scheme May Widen Income Gap (Calvin Ng, ST Forum, 27/5, pA19)
I wish to add to Monday’s letter by Ms Ho Sulin (‘Review volunteer priority for P1 places’) that under the current rules, children from lower- to middle-income families are disadvantaged in several other ways when their parents are scouting for a primary school.
First, I agree with Ms Ho that students from higher-income families have an advantage when it comes to parent volunteerism and monetary donations to schools.
Second, the Ministry of Education (MOE) offers entrance priority to children living within a 2km radius of the schools. Most of the elite primary schools are located in premier districts, for instance, like Bukit Timah (Anglo Chinese Primary and Raffles Girls Primary). Only a select few, like Rosyth Primary, are located in heartland regions where lower- to middle-income families live.
Third, priority is given to children whose parents had prior links to the school. Many of the children whose parents have links to the elite schools come from higher-income families.
Fourth, having gained entrance to these popularly sought schools, the siblings of these better-off children will enjoy the sibling-priority advantage.
My concern is that the priority scheme may create an unintended vicious circle.
Better-off children are more likely to find places in the better schools, where they will get better resources.
For example, the elite schools have the funds to employ teachers who are of a higher calibre. They also have more money to fund other useful educational enrichment programmes.
With these advantages, they are more likely to achieve success later in life. Would this not widen the income gap?

Back to work.
I'll be back to blog again... when I've got stuff to blog about.
Adios!

strength. control.

Time to recoup wasted time...

Time wasted will never come by again.
Time-tied this week, will make it work.

Thank God for the well-rested weekend (:
Cast aside all distractions, all distracting thoughts...
Hello to a new week.

I need to talk to someone about this bugging thought. For now, shoo out of my head (:

Off to bed. Everyone should learn to sleep early (:

sidenote.

Can I add how much the (F) word annoys me? A lot. Even the second-previous sentence looks vulgar in text ._. Urgh. Doesn't help that it keeps getting spewed out in daily conversations around me. Seriously man.

school. life.

This... is for the sake of blogging, haha (:

Nothing much these days; lessons 've started, and things are chugging along at quite a pace. Every teacher tells us, during the first lesson...

"The year ahead will be difficult."

"This road will not be easy."

"You will need to put in a lot, a lot of hard work to do well."

"You will encounter setbacks and failures along the way."

"You must not give up when the going gets tough."

Work is starting to seep in. Seep, going by college-standards. Being consistent is really important, though. 'Ve been hanging out with Tabby (ack now there're two of them, need to find a way to distinguish either (: ) to study together at our secret hideout (hahaha :D) Class bench is unstudy-able. - -" Too many people, too much clutter. We tried studying at the stone table under the tree ( :D ) last week, and ended up getting bitten by ants ._.

I think being hardworking and diligent (even when it seems like the whole world is not) is very important. People always go, "Wahpiang! Mugger lah you! Don't mugger lah!" I think it's not so much of mugger or not, it's more of investing time every day into revising the lectures and tutorials and reading up for upcoming lessons. I've been pretty intrigued these days googling and wiki-ing the little bits of trivia our teachers randomly mention in lessons. Interesting stuff/knowledge; good to know.

It helps to have a consistent study buddy too. Helps you stay grounded and clear even in the midst of all the hustle and bustle of outings, programmes, activities and CCA. Study buddy sounds funny and cool, haha (:

For now, my diary is lasting well, in the sense that I'm seriously making good use of it for reminders and dates (: People who know me know that all my planers and diaries have died every year. - -" I'm determined to make this year a good one.

Pray that my diligence will not wear off, even when exhaustion and weariness sets in later on. (:

Just completed CCA registration on ISP; it's set. I hope I made the right choices, and that we can all get into our choice CCAs. Hello to floorball and photography (: I'm so excited!! Floorball <:) And DSLRs :D

Thinking Day Rally today; felt a string of emotions seeing the whole company and the new Sec 1s. The Roos got to be Roos again, I felt fuzzy being with the rest of 'em together again (: It's just... different. 'Cos in school now, we're just... friends. Ay it's weird I don't know how to express it, but (:

Thankful for a closed wonderful chapter (: A gold and a silver, we didn't achieve the double gold we set out for, but what's a gold compared to people? People first, programmes for people. Will always bear in mind what Miss Teng said.

Okay I should be going. Pile of work awaits; Dramafeste's coming up, Lit test on monday, Math test sometime soon, need to write to my mortal. Week of Welfare this week, I can't wait! KOI bubble tea~ Councillors are 神仙s (: I really, really respect them a lot.

'Nuff for now. Have a good week ahead! Get going when the going gets tough.

Adios.

fighter

WE ARE GOING TO ROCK THE CENTRAL PLAZA TOMORROW.
GO, ARES.

Today was quite a day; timetable's out. Will study over the CNY holiday. Lit is making me very, very nervous (and a tad regretful?), but I promise I will conquer it. I will. My diary is filling up very quickly; I think it'll run out soon, and then I'll switch to the Ad Inifinitum one from the school (:

'Ve got one thousand and one things to say, but time is going tick tock tick tock, need to sleeeeeeeeeeeeep so that we'll have POWER tomorrow!!! Have a good night.

Happy Chinese New Year (:

Google buzz.

Facebook's downfall, perhaps? Hahaha maybe I'll join Google buzz and beat the rest of the 'in' crowd LOL :D

happy birthday, evelyn. (:

Work is starting to pour in slowly, but surely. The $10.00 worth of Geog notes freaked the freak out of all of us today. 22 sets of notes for... 4 lectures.

College life is really, really, really different. We all miss Nanyang. No one tells you how to run your life anymore; you're responsible for reading announcements posted on the SMB, finding the teachers yourself... you're responsible for making decisions like whether to use one hour to go to the canteen, hang around at the fishtank or read your econs notes.

Econs is quite a foreign, but generally interesting subject to learn. Though I'm not really that money-smart and stuff, (I seriously think I will go bankrupt someday) I guess the subject's useful. Hopefully I won't come to regret my decision to stick with it and not change to ELL.

Literature's... quite stressful; I'm constantly haunted by the whole idea of being background-less. Hopefully my passion for the Language and the drive to teach my students next time spurs me on. I will conquer hahaha (:

Talking about conquering, "Math is conquerable". These 3 words that Mrs June Ng (Ares Fac Teacher I/C) said brought me a lot of encouragement (: My classmates tell me their Math sucks too. Probably not as bad as mine, I think, but we'll do fine helping each other along the way (:

I like my class. I think we've a lot of potential to be a smashing awesome class! Boys are weird, but generally quite nice. They function on obviously different wavelengths as girls, but they're quite entertaining. And they boo very loudly. (cue loud, hollering BOOOOOOOOO...............)

Floorball training yesterday; I want to join ): Parents don't seem to keen on the idea of 2 CCAs though. I hope I can find some way to convince them and make sure my school work is maintained (: Still deciding between guitar or photography as the 1st CCA. Or maybe a new option will pop up along the way.

'Ve been signing up for quite a lot of programmes. I hope I'll be able to manage. Dramafeste, emcee auditions, YOG, DVBS etc. (Hahaha ok I digressed to other stuff and forgot what I was going to blog about already - -") (SMB HAS A LOT ANNOUNCEMENTS OMG.)

Adios! (Sorry for abrupt ending ._.)
